At a glance
- What I collect: your email address — only if you submit it via the "Notify me" form.
- Why: to send you a single message when Sofia's Safe Circle is available to read with your child.
- Who else can see it: Resend, the service that sends the launch email.
- How long I keep it: until you unsubscribe, or up to six months after the launch notification.
- Your rights: you can ask what I hold, ask me to delete it, or unsubscribe — at any time.
- Cookies and tracking: no marketing cookies, no analytics tracker. Cloudflare Turnstile uses minimal data to prevent bot signups.
Who runs this site
This site is operated by Maryam Ehsani — the "controller" under UK GDPR. The best way to reach me about anything on this page is hello@maryam-ehsani.com.
What I collect, and why
The only personal data this site collects is your email address, and only if you actively submit it via the Notify me form for Sofia's Safe Circle. I use it for one purpose: to send you a single message the day the book is available.
I do not use your address for marketing, do not share it with third parties beyond the email service named below, and do not enrich, profile, or sell it. I will not contact you a second time without your explicit opt-in.
The signup form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to prevent automated abuse. Turnstile does not show puzzles and does not track you across sites.
Lawful basis
I process your email on the basis of your consent (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(a)). Submitting the form is your active opt-in. You can withdraw consent at any time — either by following the unsubscribe link in the launch email, or by emailing me directly.
Who else sees it
Your email is stored and sent through Resend, the transactional email service used for the launch notification. Resend acts as my data processor, processing your address only on my instructions.
Resend may transfer data to the United States. Where this happens, the transfer is covered by the EU/UK Data Privacy Framework or equivalent safeguards under UK GDPR Articles 45 and 46.
I do not use Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, or any other third-party analytics or advertising tracker on this site.
How long I keep it
Your email is kept until either:
- you unsubscribe — in which case it is removed from the launch topic immediately; or
- a reasonable period after the launch notification has been delivered — no more than six months — after which it is deleted regardless.
Your rights under UK GDPR
You have the right to:
- ask what personal data I hold about you;
- ask me to correct or delete it;
- withdraw your consent at any time;
- complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office if you think I have handled your data poorly.
To exercise any of these rights, email hello@maryam-ehsani.com. I aim to respond within 30 days.
Children
This site is about a children's book, but it is not directed at children. The signup form is for the adults in a child's life. I do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 13.
Changes to this policy
If I change how I handle data, I will update this page and the date at the top. Material changes will be flagged in the launch email if they happen before it goes out.
If anything here is unclear, just email me — hello@maryam-ehsani.com.
